Children and Family Food Traditions is an event for children and their families to watch, talk, and learn about the importance of simple family food traditions that allow family members to gather and appreciate each other and their food.
This year, three short food films that highlight family and food will screen followed by a brief interactive discussion. The program will conclude with hands-on learning: The De Giorgi and Nagamoto families, both local to Boulder, will share their Italian and Japanese cultural food traditions at separate stations where you can learn to make crostini and onigiri (rice balls), taste them, and receive instructions that will enable you to make them at home.
Natural Grocers will also demonstrate how to make simple kid-friendly healthy food to incorporate into new family traditions.
Short films: I Tell My Children, Roses Sing on New Snow, Soup of the Day
Suggested age range for children: four to twelve years-old, but children of all ages are welcome
