Chef Claudette Zepeda opens her new restaurant, El Jardín, in San Diego not far from the border town of Tijuana. Inspired by the traditions of generations of Mexican women and combining regional heirloom ingredients from across Mexico, Zepeda takes a huge risk to elevate the cuisine in her hometown.
El Jardín is part of the Emmy Award-winning The Migrant Kitchen series from KCET. It delves into the culinary contributions of immigrants and gastronomic cross-cultural pollination.
Zepeda will introduce the film and participate in a short discussion after it.
