Eat Drink Man Woman
This film is a Taiwanese comedy about a widowed master chef who lives with his three unmarried adult daughters in Taipei. One of director Ang Lee’s first films, it’s a vital part of any cinematic collection.
In this richly-textured Taiwanese comedy by director Ang Lee, a widowed master chef, who has lost his sense of taste, lives with his three romantically challenged unmarried daughters in Taipei. The intricate exotic dishes that the chef cooks for the family’s Sunday multi-course meal together underline the action and punctuate the plot. Most of the film’s main action takes places over food.
Part of our 5th anniversary classic food film series. Dr. Allen Lim, a founder of SkratchLabs, will introduce the film.
